Hello all, I just wanted to tell you that the restorations of the Mutual films included in the 90th anniversary edition are amazing! One of my favorite Chaplin shorts has long been One a.m. (It probably didn't hurt that I watched it for the first time with a friend after we had enjoyed a few glasses of wine and several rounds of rummy.) Anyway, all the times I watched it, I had never been able to see that the walls actually had wallpaper on them. In the 90th anniversary edition, there is wallpaper--and not just any wallpaper, elaborate wallpaper! My jaw dropped and I dialed my friend right away. The next weekend we watched it anew....and again toasted Charlie. If you have not seen the 90th anniversary edition of the Mutual films, you absolutely must! If all goes as planned, I will be showing One a.m. at my 30th birthday party next year (with permission, of course). I am thrilled with anticipation! silent twenties
